Dee Travers, 54, of Cambridge, MD passed away June 7, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 6, 1957 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Shirley Robbins Dayton and the late Bobby Ray Dayton.
Dee graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1975. After graduating she attended cosmetology school. She was married to Harrison S. Travers Jr. and together had a daughter Brittany who was her best friend.
For many years she worked at Acme Market in St. Michaels as a receiving manager. Dee continued to work until her health declined.
Dee was an avid animal lover, didn’t matter what kind, she loved them all. She also had a love for motorcycles and together with her husband they went on many bike rides.
Surviving Dee besides her mother, husband and daughter all of Cambridge, are four sisters Terry Wheatley and husband Rick of Cambridge; Vicki Fisher of Washington State; Donna Airey and husband Danny of Cambridge; Nancy Cantville and companion Mark Meekins of Linkwood; one brother Tony Dayton of Cambridge; a special aunt and uncle Kaye & Gary Chalk of Westminster; previous neighbors Amanda and Drew Harper and their six daughters of Snow Hill; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her Rottweiler “Elvis”.
A funeral service will be held at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, on Saturday, June 9, 2012 beginning at 12 noon. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev. Fred Bahr and Jimmy Dayton. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge, MD.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dee's nephews.
