Diane Tolley

Diane Elizabeth Tolley 63, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Dorchester General Hospital.

Born in Cambridge, MD on January 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Emily Flowers Powley.

On July 24, 1969 in Hooper’s Island, Diane was united in marriage to Daniel L. Tolley.

Before retirement, Diane worked as a crab picker and was employed in many of the local crab picking houses. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and together with her husband she loved fishing in the waters of southern Dorchester.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Amber Tolley McGinnis and husband Sean of Cambridge; two brothers, Thomas Lawrence Powley (Bubby) and wife Linda of Golden Hill; Larry Ritchie Powley (Boo) and wife Nancy of Hooper’s Island and a sister Bonnie Gay Willey and husband Mike of Taylor’s Island; a granddaughter, Quinn McGinnis and a grandson, Daniel McGinnis; and many special nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Diane may be sent to the Shore Regional Cancer Center, 509 Idlewild Ave., Easton, MD , 21601
