Dieter Rudolph “DE” Kowarsch, 73, of Cambridge, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.

Born November 22, 1939 in Germany, he was a son of Gertrude Kuhnert and the late Willie Kowarsch. At the age of 15 Dieter and his family immigrated to the United States and proudly obtained his citizenship.

On October 27, 1984 Dieter married the former Shirley Timmons and together made their home in Cambridge.

Mr. Kowarsch worked for Wilhan Mobile Homes as a maintenance manager for 35 yrs. He was a past member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving him besides his mother and wife are daughters Teresa Harrison of Cambridge and Starr Hurley of Linkwood, a son Wayne Kowarsch and his wife Elaine of Denton; a brother, Willfried Kowarsch and his wife Diane of Texas, 3 sisters Esther Zwemer, Heidi McFairland and Renate Gray and her husband Peter; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a brother Heinz Kowarsch; sister, Siegrid Kowarsch; daughter -Shirley Robbin Foy; granddaughter- Danielle Downs.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 beginning 2 p.m. at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 14, 2013 from 6 till 8 p.m. and an hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Abe Lankford and Minister Will Kowarsch. Burial will be private.
