Biography

Elsie Marie Hayes, age 79 of Cambridge, MD, died Friday afternoon, November 12, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital.

Born on March 13, 1931 in Cambridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raynor Crosby and Grace V. Miller Crosby and was educated in Cambridge.

On June 1, 1948 she married Robert T. Hayes.

Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker and loved being with her family.

Surviving besides her husband of 62 years, Robert T. Hayes of Cambridge, MD; are four children Robert M. Hayes and his wife Clara of Millersville, MD, Catherine "Kay" Warfield of Cambridge, MD, William Richard Hayes, Sr. and his wife Anita of Chestertown, MD, Theresa Hayes Wanex and her husband Jason of Cambridge, MD; seven grandchildren Stephen Hayes, Jeremy Hayes, Crystal Warfield, Joey Warfield, Philip Hayes, Aubrie Wanex and Kenny Abbott; five great-grandchildren Hunter Bradshaw, Callie Bradshaw, Averi Warfield, Nathan Warfield and Caiden Hayes; numerous nieces; nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were two sisters Ruth Edith Crosby and Anna Louise Hayes; and a grandson William Richard "Ritchie" Hayes, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. William J. Lawler. Burial will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Hayes, Joey Warfield, Edward Hayes, Philip Hayes, Jeremy Hayes, Kenny Abbott and Chris Thornton.

Memorial offerings may be made to the charity of one's choice.
