Edward John Kerbaugh, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017 with his family at his bedside. Aged 83, Edward was born April 17, 1933 in Camden, NJ as the eldest child of Edward, Sr. and Catherine (nee Frett). A talented student and athlete, Ed attended Franklin & Marshall College, playing varsity football, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. Married November 28, 1953, he is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia (nee Gibson). Edward was pre-deceased by younger siblings Eva (Stockton) and David and is survived by sister Catherine Rotchford. He also leaves behind six children: Edward III (Annmarie), James, Anne Henwood (Christopher), Thomas, Mary, and Susan McGrath (Dennis). Edward was grandfather to fourteen: Colleen, Virginia, Christopher, John, Michael Joseph, Carol, James Jr., Rachel, Michael Thomas, Sarah, Patrick, Katie, Matthew and Elizabeth. He was great-grandfather to Ciara and Hailey.

A firm believer that a person could accomplish any goal they set, Ed educated himself in many areas. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. A self-taught sailor, he twice competed in the Bermuda Ocean Race, earning second place in the latter competition. Ed was an active member of several organizations. In 1967 he founded Edker Industries, Inc., a precision sheet metal fabrication company which has operated successfully under family ownership for 50 years. Ed was highly regarded as an honest, knowledgeable businessman. Outgoing and generous, he had a natural talent for making and keeping friends. He was keenly interested in his grandchildren and loved passing on skills to them. Edward made an impact on many people and will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation for Edward will be held Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church, 1515 Glasgow St., Cambridge, MD. Military honors and funeral services at the same location will begin at noon. Officiating will be Celebrant William Lawler. A reception immediately following will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, 100 Heron Blvd., Cambridge. Inurnment in NJ will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803, or Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, 909 Progress Circle, Suite 400, Salisbury, MD 21804 or the charity of your choice.
