Born September 18, 1940 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Elizabeth Chance Stivers and Edward Elmer Stivers.
After attending the local schools in Baltimore, he married the former Sue Ann Hafner in 1959. They made their home in Baltimore until 1985 when they moved to Town Point near Cambridge, MD. In 1992, they moved to Federalsburg, MD, where they resided until Sue Ann’s passing on March 28, 2008. Soon after, Ed relocated back to the Cambridge area.
Throughout Ed’s career he was a commercial printer.
Passionate about fishing, Ed was a long-time member of the MSSA and had served as its President. As Ed and Sue were both animal lovers, together they were the owners of Lighthouse Kennels. Ed loved his German Shepherds and Sue Ann’s favorites were her Boston Terriers. A very kind-hearted gentleman, Ed was always there to help anyone, regardless of whether they were a friend or complete stranger. His family is very proud of their father’s character and integrity.

My thoughts are with you. 07/22/2015 Ida Wasarhelyi You and Sue both raised your handicap grandson Robert from around the age of 3 until he was placed in a group home. After the passing of Sue, Robert was the love of your life and I know it broke your heart when you were no longer able to take care of him. Rest In Peace. I will miss your daily phone calls and will remember that you always told me that you loved me and I loved you very much. 07/21/2015 Brenda Chaney Ed was a wonderful person who was loved and will be missed by many.
