Gabrielle Smith

Gabrielle A. Smith, 50, of Cambridge departed this life after a long battle with breast cancer December 20, 2016 at UMSMC at Easton surrounded by her loved ones.

Born July 6, 1966 in San Pedro, California, she was a daughter of Patricia and the late Vincent Barone, Jr. During her illness Gabby, as she was affectionately known, became an inspiration to many with her courage and fight. She had led a cancer survivor group teaching others how to survive. Her broad smile, bright eyes and caring heart will be missed by many but never forgotten.

Surviving besides mother Patricia Barone is her husband of 31 years Paul Smith; her four children Jessica Sampson ( Chris ), James Smith (Alexa), Jillian Smith (Larry), Jacob Smith (Kate); five beloved grandchildren Christopher, Breanna, Alex, Ember and Noah; five siblings Lisa Miguel (Ricardo), Tracy Barone (Glenda), Mario Barone (Denise), Jackie Horner ( Stephan) and Carlo Barone.

A memorial service will be held December 31, 2016 beginning 2:00 pm at Countryside Christian Church, Austin Road, Cambridge. Mr. Glenn P. Ruark will officiate.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm.

A time of fellowship will follow.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Gabby be made to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to assist them with funeral cost at this difficult time.
