Harry Sleighter Elzey, 83 of Golden Hill passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, DE.
Born at Blackwater January 11, 1929, Harry was the son of the late Olin and Cecilia Elzey.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Goslin Elzey, their two sons; Richard Olin Elzey of Golden Hill and William Kim Allen Elzey of Cambridge, along with 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Margaret Bennett, Florence Elzey and Peggy Ruark, brothers Allen Elzey and Bud Elzey.
For over 30 years Harry worked as a caretaker for the R.R.M. Carpenter Jr. and will always be remembered for his love of gardening, wildlife and one of the most experienced trappers that ever worked the marshes of Dorchester County. Harry was a gentle easy going man with a warm smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 beginning 2 pm at the Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge. Officiating will be nephew Joe Ruark accompanied by Wm. Kim Elzey. Interment will follow.

But the Bible truths lessen the sorrow and grief. For it tells us why we are dying and the hope for the death. Romans 5 12 . Tells us why man is dying. John 5 28, 29 gives hope for the dead. Finally Isa 25 8,9 tells of a time when death will be swallowed up . I encourage you to read the Bible, Always go to God in prayer.
