JULIUS D. DILWORTH

Julius D. Dilworth (J.D.), age 64, of Hurlock, MD, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.

Born on January 5, 1944 in Harford County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ernest R. Dilworth and Mary Frances Merkle.

J.D., as he was known, was a graduate of North Dorchester High School, Class of 1963. After graduation, he entered the National Guard Delaware Armory and retired in 2004.

For fifteen years, he was a Trooper First Class employed by the Maryland State Police where he worked undercover. Later, he had also worked at Fluor Daniel, Seaford, DE.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, Secretary, MD.

His memberships included the American Legion Post 243 of Hurlock, MD, VFW # 4961 Seaford, DE.

J.D. was an avid coin collector, enjoyed fishing and refinishing antiques. He also held a pilots license for his love of flying and was certified as a private investigator.

Surviving is his sister Rose Andrew and Cec Parks of Cambridge, MD; four children Brett Dilworth and Brenda of Hurlock, MD, Kevin Dilworth of Harmony, MD, Sean Kvilhaug and his wife Lisa of Seaford, DE, and Kristopher Dilworth of Rehoboth, DE; eight grandchildren Kevin Dilworth, Leigha Dilworth, Katie Dilworth, Mike Rizia, Kamahalo Dilworth, Erik Rizia, Taylor Raina Kvilhaug, Sean Cameron Kvilhaug, Aiden Connor Kvilhaug and Griffin Ryder Kvilhaug; and three great-grandchildren Kalayah Dilworth, Kemora Dilworth, Kyree Dilworth.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are six siblings Ernest (Buddy) Dilworth, Mary Ellen McConnell, Marion L. Dilworth, Gordon E. Dilworth, Donald Dilworth and Norman F. Lewis.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where a Christian Wake will be held at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary, Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church, Glasgow St. and Hambrooks Blvd., Cambridge. The Christian Wake and Mass will be led by The Rev. William J. Lawler, Rector. Interment will follow with Military Honors provided by the Maryland Army National Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 243 of Hurlock at The Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Cay, John Davis, Sam Campbell, Frank Morris, Michael Rizia and Eric Rizia.
