Lillian Cannon Mills, age 92, formerly of Linkwood, passed away, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Talbot Hospice House in Easton, MD with her daughter Lois at her side.

Born on March 2, 1916 in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Cannon and Linda Comegys Cannon.

Mrs. Mills was a graduate of Easton High School.

On August 23, 1941 she married Louis E. Mills. Mr. Mills died on December 7, 2001. After Mr. Mills passed away, she moved to Salisbury, MD, where she lived with her daughter and had been a resident of Mallard Landing. She then moved to Easton for a brief period of time.

Mrs. Mills and her friend Irma Schott, established the Linkwood Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Mills had attended Chateau United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mills was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables. She was well known as well for being a great cook. She enjoyed people and made friends wherever she went. Mrs. Mills was a loving person and will be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving is her daughter Lois M. Peedin and son-in-law Charlie Peedin of Easton, MD; a grandson Gregory Johnson and his wife Joanne of Salisbury, MD; a great-granddaughter Rachel Johnson; a great-grandson Ryan Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her husband and spouse, are eleven of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Douglas Albert. Entombment will follow in the Mills Mausoleum at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Alan “Flip” Bradshaw, Phil Bradshaw, Martin Mills, Mike Lake, Michael Lake and Mark Meekins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. Mills memory to either Linkwood-Salem Vol. Fire Dept., PO Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835 or to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Dr., Easton, MD 21601.
