Lida Parsons

Lida E. Parsons, 84, of Cambridge, MD, formerly of Willards, MD, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at UMSMC at Dorchester.

Born on May 12, 1929 in Powellville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gray Powell and Lydia Belle Timmons Powell.

On January 19, 1952 she married Lester Parsons. Mr. Parsons passed away in 2000.

Mrs. Parsons was a member of the Ayers United Methodist Church in Pittsville.

Lida was a loving and giving woman. She had many friends. She loved to visit with her friends at Hurlock Meadows and sit under the trees for chit chat.

Surviving is a a daughter Sharon Duliga and husband Daniel of Delray Beach, Florida, son Carl Parsons and his wife Cynthia of Champagne, Illinois, two grandsons Benjamin and Michael Parsons and a step-grandsons Matthew Schiel and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were two sisters Amy Lewis and Catherine Jones and two brothers Gorman Powell and Charles Powell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 beginning 11 a.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Lavone Chester. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Berlin, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. Parsons’ memory to the Ayers United Methodist Church, Pittsville Gumborough Rd., Pittsville, MD 21850
