Marjorie Elizabeth Strehlen, 93, of Cambridge, MD formerly of Madison, MD died Monday morning, December 12, 2016 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge.
Born on May 8, 1923 in Baltimore City, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Frank Williams and Margaret Schul Williams.
On September 19, 1942 she married John M. Strehlen, Sr., he died on October 4, 1998
Mrs. Strehlen was a homemaker. Her husband was the owner-operator of Straco Contractors. She and her husband had a summer home in Madison for a few years prior to their permanent move from Baltimore, MD in the early 1970’s
Marjorie was a member of Madison United Methodist Church.
Surviving her is a son John Michael Strehlen, Jr.(Gloria) of Madison, MD; three daughters Barbara Jones (Robert) of Chesapeake, VA, Nancy Creighton (Butch) of Fishing Creek, MD and Janet Wheatley (Michael) of Cambridge, MD; sister Betty Bradford of Baltimore, MD; brother Jack Williams of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a son Ronald (Ronnie) Strehlen; two brothers Edward Williams and Frank Williams; grandson John C. Strehlen and sister Marie Strehlen.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank- you to the staff at Chesapeake Woods Center for the excellent care given to Marjorie during her stay.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 beginning 12:30 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating.
Burial will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.
A viewing and visitation with the family will be held an hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Seward, Joey Neal, Michael Wheatley and C. J. Wade.
In lieu of the flowers contributions in Marjorie’s name can be sent to Madison United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Wingate 4660 White Marsh Road, Madison, MD 21648.
