Billy, Larry & Linda I am very sorry to hear about your Mother. (what a wonderful woman Dorchester County has lost) I will never forget her kindness that she always showed from the first day I met her in Gootee's lunch room. May you feel the presence of God to comfort you today and every day in the future. With much sympathy Bill Barnes

So many years have passed, 1974 ended my after school sports trips to Gootee's Lunch Room for food and drinks. But Miss Irene smiled and didn't mind all of those young high school children coming in after school. She was always smiling or laughing with us. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and many friends. GOD Bless everyone.

Irene was a very special lady and had a big heart she knew no stranger.... She is surely going to be missed... The entire Gootee family is in my thoughts and prayers.... Love you all, Laurie and Austin

May the family find comfort in loving memories, and in knowing that God is "close to those that are broken at heart; and he saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, has promised to soon "swallow up death forever...and wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) With deepest sympathy.
