Michael Rogers

Michael D. Rogers was born on February 22, 1971 to William E. Rickards Jr. and the late Susie May Rogers in Lewes, Delaware. He departed this world on Wednesday,  March 6, 2019 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, Maryland.

Michael A.K.A (Mike) attended Sussex Central School in the Indian River School district. He played football in middle school. He has always been a fan of the Cowboys all his life. He has always liked wrestling. He was a big fan of W.W. F. He also wrestled in middle school.

Mike enjoyed eating and being with his family. He loved himself some fried chicken and an occasional beer. He had a great love for his family and children. His love was unconditional.

In addition to his mother, Mike was preceded in death by his brothers David Lee Rickards, Ricky Rickards, Ernest Hudson (Pipe), Wallace Rickards (Ervin), Larry Rogers, Ronny Rogers (Baldy), and Edward Washington (Peanut)

He leaves behind his children - Donnell Savage, Erica Savage (Latoya), Latoya Rogers (Jalanious), Kianna Rogers; two grandchildren - Tameeia Savage, Maki Savage; brothers - George Dale (Sumiko), William E. Hudson, Bruce A. Hudson (Debbie), Darrel Lynn Ricketts, Harry Church,  Michael R. Ricketts (Cliffinette),  Darrel Kellam; sisters - Edna R. Gibbs, Lillie Shall (Bruce),  Sandra D. Holland (Anthony), Sandra Prelue (William), Cammie A. Johnson (Asa), Lorna V. Mitchell (Cornelius) Tanya D. Mann (Gregory) Katina A. Rogers, Danyell Mc Cray, Charmayne Mc. Cray and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Graham A.M.E. Church, Greenwood, DE beginning 11 a.m. with Bishop Turner officiating.

A viewing and visitation with family will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Arson I. Gibbs, Jr., Gregory L. Mann, Jr., William T.D. Webb and Calvin Wescott, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, 308 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
