Guestbook

My prayers & condolences to the DeCapio Family. Richard was a BFF of mine while we were children in Oakdale, CT. I had lost touch over the years when the family had moved away only to find Richard & John on Facebook many years later. I'm glad Richard was able to land that dream job and do what he really loved. He will be dearly missed, but will live on in our hearts and minds. Godspeed old friend...Fair winds and following seas.

I had just come to know Rich as I just reported to the Naval Academy last October. Rich warmly welcomed me into the Academy family and always greeted me with a smile and firm handshake. He was extremely dedicated to his Midshipmen in the Naval Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and the epitome of what we seek in mentors to inspire and positively influence our future leaders. On behalf of the men and women of the United States Naval Academy Band, thank you, Rich, for your devotion to music and to our Academy. You are one of a kind my friend, and are most assuredly missed around the Yard.

I went to high school with Rich and have nothing but good memories of him. We really did not connect until senior year, as he was a band guy and I was not. We both had muscle cars from the late 60's that we would ride-share in. His was better, being a convertible GTO. He introduced me to the X-Men comics and gave me my most prized issues. We shared a love for comic art and never seemed to be at a loss for other things to talk about.I have not seen Rich since graduation, but feel saddened for his family in this time of sudden loss. You were all lucky to have had the time with him that you did, however short.

Marched with Rich in the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps when he played snare drum in an undefeated drumline and a World Championship season in 1986! Hardworking and very likeable he will be greatly missed by all who knew him! The USNA D&B CORPS and the Academy lost a great one! Hand Salute, GO BUSH, GODSPEED, and God bless you!

Laurie and family and Rich's USNA family. I am shocked to hear this news. Rich came to Hurricanes when I was director and we hit it off. A great member and drummer, When Bridgemen Alumni started I had the pleasure to be in the snare line with him, No being able to be at all the rehearsals, Rich was the one that would take me off to the side and get me caught up. I was so proud of him when he go the USNA percussion position. He will be missed by all. Rest in Peace my Brother. Vic Kulinski Jr. Orlando Fl. by way of Conn.
