Ruth Creighton

Ruth Mills Creighton passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 4, 2018 in Woodland Park, CO. She was born May 8, 1927 to Wilbur and Ethel (Seward) Mills.

Ruth graduated from Cambridge High School in 1944. She worked as an administrative assistant for most of her professional career; 37 years with Phillips Hardware Co.; 1 year with Tabbert Industries and retiring after almost 10 years with Cambridge Wire Cloth.

Ruth loved her home on Bay Heights Avenue, driving, shopping and spending time with friends and family. Most weekday mornings she met friends at the “Sandy Hill Diner” and was a frequent patron of “Cindy’s Eastside Kitchen”. She had a love of animals; especially German Shepherds and horses. Palomino horses were her favorite. She also had an attraction for cowboys; preferably one with a palomino!

As her health deteriorated, in 2015, Ruth moved to Woodland Park, Co. to live with Mary Ann Todd and her family. For the past 2 years she was a resident of a skilled nursing facility due to her debilitating dementia and health issues.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and long-time companion Samuel Spear. She is survived by several cousins.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. My dear wife and I would like to extend our condolences for the loss of your loved one. We send this condolence with the sure hope the Bible provides all of us at difficult times like this. As recorded in the Bible, God's only-begotten son, Jesus promises that one day he is personally going to bring back to life all those who have died (John 5:28, 29; 11:43, 44). As death is an enemy to us, it is also an enemy to Almighty God (1 Corinthians 15:26). For that reason, as well as others, He promises to remove from this earth FOREVER all the pain, suffering, wickedness, and DEATH that mankind has had to endure for thousands of years (Revelation 21:3-5; Psalm 37:10, 11, 29). What a glorious day that will surely be! It's a reality and a sure hope that we can trust in because it is absolutely impossible for God to lie (Titus 1:2). My wife and I sincerely encourage you to look up and meditate on these noted scriptures in your own Bible (1 Timothy 4:15, 16; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17). You will surely be encouraged and comforted by the marvelous hope our Grand Creator has in store for us (John 17:3). Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
