William Cook

William “Bill” Guy Cook, 63, of Hurlock, MD passed away at his home on July 27, 2015 from a sudden illness. He is now riding on the wings of his Harley on the streets of gold.
Bill was born May 8, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to William Franklin Cook and Delores M. Hale. He graduated from Franklin Senior High and had worked for Dorchester General Hospital as an engineer since 1978. His passion was his family and had a special love for his Harley. He enjoyed taking long rides through the country on his motorcycle, writing poetry, fishing with his children, hunting with his sons, listening to music and playing with his grandchildren and his fur-babies Mya, Ozzy and Britney.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Holly Shorter Cook, four daughters; two sons and five grandchildren, Billie Jean Gaskin and husband Jay, grandson Noah, Bobbie Jo O’Dell and husband Joshua, grandson Joshua, Jr., William Granville Cook and wife Jennifer, granddaughters Taylor, Addison and grandson Nathan, Damien Keith Cook and fiancé Amberlyn Johnson, Millie M. Campbell and Valerie Ann Reeder.
He is also survived by his father William F. Cook, mother Delores M. Hale and three sisters. Joyce D’Antoni and significant other Fred, Catherine Powell and husband Ed, Gloria Downey and husband Rick, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his stepfather Robert Hale.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home in Cambridge, MD on Saturday August 1, 2015 beginning 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Unity Washington Cemetery in Hurlock, MD. Officiating will be Pastor Jayson Bleyer.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Cook, Damien Cook, Joshua O’Dell, Jerry Shorter, Jimmy McFarlin, Michael Powell, David Powell and Adam Powell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Powell, Derrick Powell and Joshua Downey.
Please dress casually and if you have a motorcycle shirt please wear it.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of William can be made to Heroes Haven, Inc. P.O. Box 357 Sharptown, MD 21861.
