William Henry Eberspacher, age 70, of Cambridge, MD, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge.

Born in Cambridge, Dorchester County, MD on February 26, 1939, he is the son of the late Frederick Edward Eberspacher and Katherine Metz Eberspacher.

Mr. Eberspacher made the family farm, The Brick House Farm in Drawbridge his home throughout his entire life. He was a graduate of North Dorchester High School, Class of 1957 and had attended the University of Maryland, College Park for two years.

On November 10, 1962 he married the former Ann Spicer of Cambridge, MD.

Mr. Eberspacher was a farmer and since the 1970’s he worked during the winter delivering oil in Cambridge for Leon Hurley, Granville Hooper, and lastly for Pep-Up. He retired in 2000 due to his health beginning to fail as a result of severe depression. Two years ago he developed dementia and was a resident at Mallard Bay Care Center for the past five months.

Mr. Eberspacher’s early Christian education and Confirmation were at Immanuel Evangelical & Reform Church which later became the Immanuel United Church of Christ. He later attended Grace Baptist Church, Hurlock, MD for 17 years and had been a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Cambridge, MD for about 10 years.

Mr. Eberspacher was a very faithful worker and supporter of Golden Shore Christian School from 1973 to the 1990’s serving on the Golden Shore Christian School Board most of that time. He was also a member of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau.

His hobbies were reading particularly topics of history and was an avid NASCAR fan since his teenage years.

Surviving is his wife Ann Spicer Eberspacher of Cambridge, MD; a son Curtis Edward Eberspacher and his wife Patricia “Trish” of Cornelius, NC; two grandchildren Jeannine A. Eberspacher and Joseph M. “Joey” Eberspacher; a great-grandson Elijah Eberspacher; sisters-in-law Elois S. “Lois” Eberspacher of Grasonville, MD and Ruth Spicer Gray of Cambridge, MD, Doris Spicer Dove of Salisbury, MD and R. Elaine Spicer of Seaford, DE; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a sister and brother-in-law Anna Eberspacher VanCleve and Ben Van Cleve; a brother Fred P. Eberspacher; a brother and sister-in-law Emerson W. Eberspacher and Norma J. Eberspacher; brothers-in-law Joseph L. Spicer, Russell L. Gray and Ercell S. Dove; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty Spicer Fehsenfeld and Arthur L. Fehsenfeld, Jr.; and two nephews Steven M. Dove and Charles F. Eberspacher.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Dave Stewart. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be John “Jack” Van Cleve, Ted Eberspacher, Doug Eberspacher, Mark Eberspacher, Emerson “Rusty” Eberspacher, Jr., and Chem Albites.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mr. Eberspacher’s memory to Alzheimer’s Assoc. Greater MD Chapter, 1850 York Rd., Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5122.
