Aileen Tall Brooks, 88, of Cambridge, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge, Maryland.
Born in the house she lived her entire life, on June 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Bernard S. Tall and Ethel Tyler Tall. She attended local schools and then business school where she received her Associate Degree.
Aileen married her husband of 52 years on April 3, 1943, Reginald Lee “Tuffy” Brooks. Tuffy passed away April 13, 1995.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Aileen was a devoted wife and housekeeper. She helped her husband with their rental properties and taught her business skills to her son Ted. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. “Mom Mom” will be dearly missed.
Surviving is her son Ted Brooks and wife Julia of Woolford; two grandchildren, Adam William Brooks and wife Kiran Bal of Troy, New York and Caroline Reid Brooks of Woolford; sister in law Ann Brooks; and a beloved nephew William (Bill) Tall of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Brooks is predeceased by a brother Donald Tall.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 beginning 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Cambridge with Pastor Christina Blake officiating. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Aileen can be made to the Grace Church Endowment Fund, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, Maryland 21613.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
