Barbara Tunney

Barbara L. Tunney, 76, of Fishing Creek, Maryland passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, January 10, 2016 at UMSMC at Dorchester.
Born on September 13, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland she was a daughter of the late Doris M. Hughes and Russell W. Eckert, Sr.
After moving to the Eastern Shore from Baltimore with her family, Barbara knew she loved the way of living here on the shore. One of her favorite things to do was get in her golf cart with a bucket of peelers, her dog Charlie and go down to the wharf in Fishing Creek and fish with her buddy Walt (Duck) Kinsey. She also enjoyed getting in her car and just riding with no destination in mind. Other hobbies included playing computer games and for all her life she was an avid reader.
Barbara was a fixer of all things. Very seldom would she need to ask anyone for help when something was broken.
In her younger years she managed Mom & Pop Corner Market Deli and loved talking to the customers who would come in daily.
She will truly be missed by her family and many friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life.
Barbara is survived by her children Kathy Warehime (Doug), Evelyn Tunney and Pat Tunney; grandchildren Holly Warehime, Heather Warehime and Eddie Anders; great grandchildren Devin Stinson, Jayden Anders, Isabell Williamson, Layla Williamson and Kaden Nissley; sisters Marlyn (Marty) Peterson, Joann Dalton, Dinah Dell (Arnold) and Debbie Dean; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was a son Jim Tunney; a sister Delores (Boots) Primavera; brothers Russell W. Eckert, Jr. and Charles (Sonny) Eckert.
