Beverly Ann Lyons

It is with profound sadness and tender reverence that we announce the passing of Beverly Ann Lyons, a cherished soul whose gentle spirit and devoted heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Born on November 26, 1949, in the quiet town of Cambridge, Maryland, Beverly carried with her the warmth of her upbringing and a love for family that defined her very essence until her peaceful departure on March 13, 2026, in East New Market, Maryland.

Beverly’s life was a testament to steadfast dedication and unwavering love. A proud graduate of NDHS, class of 1967, she embarked on a remarkable career, dedicating nineteen years to Walmart, where her enduring commitment was a beacon of reliability and grace. Yet, her accomplishments in the workforce were but a single facet of a life rich in familial devotion and quiet joys.

Known affectionately as the mother hen of her family, Beverly’s gentle heart was a sanctuary for those she cherished. She was a vigilant guardian and nurturing presence, always looking out for her loved ones with the softness and strength that only a true matriarch possesses. Her passion extended to simple pleasures that painted the canvas of her life with joy: an unwavering loyalty to the Orioles baseball team, never missing a game; evenings spent amused by the timeless charm of The Andy Griffith Show; and the quiet satisfaction found in solving crossword puzzles that kept her mind sharp and engaged.

Beverly’s beloved husband, Donald Lyons, predeceased her in 2008, and in the somber close of a chapter, her sister Sharon T. Bullock departed just a day before Beverly’s own passing. She is also reunited in spirit with her parents, George W. Legg, II, and Freida Legg, who shaped the foundations of her character.

She leaves behind a circle of loved ones who will carry her memory with tenderness and love: her brothers, George W. Legg, III, and his wife Daphne, and Robert “Bobby” Legg and his wife Debra; along with her cherished nieces and nephews—Blake Mills, Stephanie Henry, MaKaye Knopp, and Jennifer Walter—each of whom will forever hold a piece of Beverly’s nurturing heart. Also, she leaves behind several cousins who will miss her immensely.

A graveside service to honor Beverly Ann Lyons’s life and legacy will be held on April 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 10531 Assateague Road in Berlin, Maryland. It is there that family and friends will gather to celebrate a life marked by kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

Beverly Ann Lyons’s journey on this earth may have reached its final destination, but her spirit endures—etched in the hearts of those she loved and in the tranquil moments of a life well-lived. Through her boundless love and gentle care, she remains ever-present, a steadfast light guiding her family onward.
