Carol Mulcahy Benner passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Cambridge, Maryland. She was born on Christmas Day, 1931, in Utica, NY, and was proud to be called Christmas Carol. She was the middle child of five born to Joseph, a salesman, and Rosetta Mulcahy, a teacher. The family moved a number of times to be closer to Joseph’s sales territory, with the family living in Utica, Ogdensburg, and Canton, NY. After high school, Carol attended and graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School in Manhattan and worked for a law firm in NYC. She married Bruce A. Benner in 1957, settling down together and raising their family in NJ. They moved to Durango, Colorado in 1981 where she worked for the Tamarron Resort eventually becoming the secretary of the chief executive of the resort. In retirement, Carol and her husband lived in St. Michaels, Maryland. She loved to knit and was a huge fan of working word searches. She leaves behind six children, ten grandchildren, a brother, a niece and two nephews. She was predeceased by her husband.
