Constance "Connie" Mae Henry, 73, of East New Market, MD, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at UMSMC at Dorchester.
Born February 12, 1940 in Cambridge, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Omar Robbins and Lucille Mae Butts Groff.
Connie attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1958.
On June 3, 1963, Connie was united in marriage to William Noel Henry and were blessed with three daughters. Mr. Henry passed away in 1980.
She worked as an assembler at Airpax for over 20 years and also at Pep-up for 10 years. Connie's favorite past time was loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing solitaire, listening to classic country music and the hymn "Beyond the Sunset". She enjoyed going to Portside Restaurant and socializing with the servers. Anyone who knew Connie, loved her and she will be missed by many.
She is survived by three daughters Terri L. Palmer and her husband Tommy of Cambridge, MD, Jerri H. Toomey of Windber, PA, Billie L. Moore and her husband Walt of East New Market, MD; son-in-law Frank Wherry of Windber, PA; grandchildren Mandi Toomey, Stephanie Johns, Jessica Burkhalter, Eric Moore and Jen Wherry; great grandchildren Brayden Carels, Hannah Johns, Aurora Hicks, Alexa Johns and Emily Davis; sister Barbara Wells of Federalsburg, MD; brother Jack Groff of California; niece Joyce Ann Crandell; two nephews Michael and Dawson Wells and a special family friend Nina Pauline Powell of West Virginia.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband is a brother-in-law Johnny Wells and stepfather John Groff.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 beginning 2 p.m. at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date at East New Market Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Steve Bloodsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A. 308 High St., Cambridge, MD 21613 to defray the funeral cost.
