Donald Alexander Dezso, born on December 1, 1926, peacefully departed this life on November 29, 2025, at Delmar Assisted Living just 2 days shy of his 99th birthday. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched the lives of many during his remarkable journey through life.

Donald dedicated over 35 years of his career to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Connecticut, where he served as an electrician until his retirement to the enchanting Eastern Shore in 1988. His unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of his professional life, setting a standard for those around him.

A proud veteran, Donald joined the U.S. Army, valiantly serving overseas in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations for nearly 14 months in the Philippines and Japan. His service did not end there; he continued with the Army and Navy reserves, displaying a commitment to his country that was deep and unwavering. In a personal homage to his past, he restored a 1948 Willy's Jeep, a cherished reminder of his time during the occupation of the Pacific.

Beyond his professional achievements, Donald created a life filled with love and adventure, treasured by his family. He had a passion for camping and spent numerous joyful moments with his family at their lakeside property in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, making lasting memories. The laughter of his great-grandchildren echoed through the woods when he took them camping with ponies on Assateague, a testament to his nurturing spirit and love for creating magical experiences for the younger generation. His other interests included fishing, gardening, and sharing quiet moments with his beloved kitty cats.

Among his proudest accomplishments were the homes he built, including the one where his five children were raised, along with a Montessori school and another home, showcasing his dedication to providing for his family.

Donald's legacy lives on through his son Michael Dezso and his wife Kris of Vernon, Connecticut; his daughter-in-law Dee Dezso of Cambridge, Maryland; and his beloved grandchildren Terra Hayden (Gary) of Crapo, Maryland; Reno Daigle of Billericay, England; and Travis Dezso of Cocoa Beach, Florida. The joy of his heart, his great-grandchildren Lauren Hayden and Josh of Toddville, Maryland; Taylor Hayden and Chris of Hudson, Maryland; Oliver Daigle and Emily Daigle of Billericay, England; along with three great-great-grandchildren, Bentley, Ivan, and Banks; his brother Butchie Dezso and his wife Jeannette of Manchester, Connecticut; sister-in-law Anita Dezso of Lillington, North Carolina and also, several nieces and nephews will forever carry forward the light of his love.

He is reunited in spirit with those who have gone before him, including his parents Alexander Dezso and Pauline Matson Dezso, his sisters TaTa and Rinky, his brother Billy, and his sons David, Bobby, and Jimmy, along with his daughter Susie.

Donald Alexander Dezso leaves behind not just fond memories, but also a legacy built on love, devotion, and hard work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and though he has left a void that can never be filled, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those he loved.

He will be buried at a later date in Connecticut with his beloved mother.
