Dorothy D. Larrimore , 88, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at the Mallard Bay Care Center Monday , March 26, 2012.
Born January 13, 1924 in Hollister North Carolina , she was the daughter of the late Florence (Rentz) Greenwell and Lee Greenwell.
On July 4, 1953 Dorothy became the bride of James Larrimore. They resided in Cambridge where he worked as a monument engraver and she was his devoted homemaker.
Dorothy was a very loyal member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church . As a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class she was very proud of her 40 plus years of perfect attendance. Always willing to help in the social events, her church meant everything to her .
Mrs. Larrimore is survived by three children , Sally L. DeFore (Randy) of North Charleston S.C., LaVerne L. Elzey (Eddie) of Cambridge and Carroll L. Larrimore (Carol Jean) of Salem ; two sisters , Marie Dudley of Cambridge and Hannah Lawson of Griffiths Neck ; eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday , March 30, 2012 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Fred Bahr officiating accompanied By Rev. Randall Blackmon. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 7 til 9 at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home in Cambridge.
