Doug unexpectedly passed away at this home in Toddville, MD on January 1, 2022.
He was born at Dorchester General Hospital to his father, Jack Douglas Mayhorn, and mother, the late Phyllis Frazier James.
Preceded in death besides his mother, was a sister, Cindy Walker; his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Marie Mayhorn of Kentucky and his maternal grandparents, Howard and Adith Frazier of Madison, MD.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Frazier Raymond Mayhorn, the light of his life; his stepsons, Ryan and Tim Adkins of Cambridge and Shannon Simmons of Cambridge.
Doug was known as a friendly, out-going person with a huge heart. He loved the life offered here in Dorchester County and he especially enjoyed working on the water, crabbing and oystering. His favorite past-time was fishing, hunting and he was known for his expert eye with a gun and the best fishing spots.
His beloved dad, Uncle Boy, Aunt Joanie and Kentucky family were very dear to him and added so much value to his life. His favorite vacation was visiting his beloved Kentucky family, where there was endless love, laughs and quality family time. He has left so many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces who will truly miss his presence.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 beginning 12:00 noon at the Madison Methodist Church followed by a gathering of family and friends at Madison fire house to celebrate his homegoing.
Arrangements entrusted to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, Cambridge.
