Edward Ruark

Edward Lewis Ruark, 65, of Townsend, DE passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Born March 29, 1949 in Cambridge, he was the son of Jenny V Ruark and the late E. Newton Ruark. Growing up in Crocheron, he attended Crapo Elementary School and then South Dorchester High where he graduated with the Class of 67. He enjoyed sports, was a member of the basketball team and was known as a jovial individual who was quick to play a joke on others.
After high school, he attended Salisbury State College & Peninsula General Hospital School of Technology where he earned a degree in 1970 as a Registered Medical Technologist.
Although moving from the area he always considered this his home.
Edward made his career in law enforcement. He graduated from the police academy and was a deputy in Florida when he lived there from 1987 till 1998. Moving to Delaware he continued in law enforcement and was proud of becoming a U.S. Marshall. Edward retired when his health would no longer allow him to fulfill the demands of his profession. His greatest memories to name just a few, fishing with his dad, watching the Philadelphia Phillies, bowling, golfing and dancing.
On March 31, 1973 Edward married his wife of nearly 42 years, Margaret "Peggie" Jones. Together they were blessed with five daughters. Edward loved his family and taught them the same Christian beliefs that his parents had bestowed on him.
Surviving besides his mother and wife are his children Lisa Venzon and husband Mark of Middletown, DE, Shannyn Winters and husband Stephen of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Kimberley Banegas of Townsend, DE, Jenny Romano and husband Wayne of Smyrna, DE, Rachel Ruark also of Smyrna DE; sister Dr. Jacquline Smith and husband Allen of Church Creek, MD; grandchildren April, Tiereny, Sean, Megan, Mateo, Travis, Rosie and Madix.
