Emilie Josephine Hobbs, 64 of Cambridge, Maryland passed away on May 31, 2013 at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
She was born in Washington, DC on September 16, 1948 to the late Edward and Ruth Hobbs. Emilie is survived by her brother Charles Hobbs of Hurlock, Maryland.
Emilie attended Dorchester County Public Schools and had been a resident of Delmarva Community Services, Inc. (DCS) since 1986. She worked various jobs with DCS since 1984.
Emilie had a passion for horses and cats. Additionally, she volunteered with 4-H and adult classes. She participated in the Specials Riders program, Melwood Recreation Center, Special Olympics (where she won several ribbons and trophies for her expertise with dressage), swimming at the YMCA, arts and crafts and she specialized in making horses out of aluminum foil.
Emilie attended Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Avenue of Cambridge, Maryland where her service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD followed by a repast at Delmarva Community Services, Rt. 16, Cambridge, MD. Officiating the service will be Pastor Roy D. Collins.
