UPDATE:  MRS. FRANCES BLOODSWORTH WILL BE LAID TO REST AT OLD TRINITY CHURCH CEMETERY, CHURCH CREEK, MD BESIDE HER HUSBAND BILLY, ON SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2026 AT 11;00 A.M. WITH HER SON PASTOR STEVE BLOODSWORTH OFFICIATING.  ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOMED.

Frances Bloodsworth was born February 1, 1931, in Lakesville. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Ann Elsie Holiday. Her siblings were Ruth Moore, Susie (Sissy) Holiday, Gladys Mills, Frank (Doc) Holiday and Robert (Bobby) Holiday. She also had a niece Nancy Parks, who was like a sister.

As a child she lived most of her life in the close-knit community of Madison, Maryland. She attended a one-room school in Madison for grades 1-8. During this time, she learned that a good education was something that could not be taken from her, and it was free! Upon completion of the 8th grade, she attended Cambridge High School and graduated as a member of the National Honor Society. Frances met Bill Bloodsworth 1947. They started dating and married in January of 1949. They had six children; William, Susie, David, Steve, Carol and Cindy. After her children were grown, Ms. Frances had her prayers answered when Open Bible Academy opened its doors in 1976. Ms. Frances, as she was known to so many, began working there the very first year and worked until she was 86 years old. She had always wanted to be a teacher. God granted her wish and she was able to love and nurture the lives of hundreds of children who still rise up and call her blessed. She had a special heart for the little children that needed a little extra love. She freely shared wisdom with any who needed a helping hand. One of her favorite sayings was. “Love isn’t love until you give it away”. She spent her life giving it away. You may read more about her life in Proverbs 31:10-31.

She is survived by three children; David Bloodsworth and his children, Chris, Brandon and Cory, Steve Bloodsworth (Vicki) and their children, Stephen N. Bloodsworth and Cullen and Cindy Cannon (David) and their children, Shane, Matt, Casey, Roxanne, and D.C., a son-in-law, Tom Malik and his children, Heather, Carrie and Jessica, grandchildren, Valerie Phillips (Rusty), Michael Windsor (Mary) and Jenny Ruark (Luther) and a flock of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that brought her great joy and happiness throughout her life.

Besides her parents and husband, Ms. Frances is preceded in death by all of her siblings and her children, William, Susie and Carol and a granddaughter Billie Sue.
