Frederick Ewell “Freddie” Windsor passed away peacefully August 30, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. Mr. Windsor was born December 7, 1931 on the Higgins Mill Pond farm near Airey to James Thomas and Irene Willey Windsor. Mr. Windsor was a lifelong farmer and never lived more than two miles from where he was born. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1948.

In 1954, he married Lydia Anne Roberts at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Cambridge and moved to the farm on Beaver Neck Road where he lived the rest of his life. He hired local farmhands until his children became old enough to work on the farm. His sons, John and George, helped on the farm until they decided to pursue their own farming careers. In 1982, Tim returned to the farm and worked with his father until Mr. Windsor retired in 2011 at the age of 80.

Mr. Windsor was active in the community, participating in agricultural and social events. In February of 1979, he and his sons drove his Farmall 806, in a snowstorm, to Washington, DC along with other local farmers joining the National Tractorcade in support of the American Agriculture Movement.
He was known for his large collection of antique tractors and Ford cars and trucks. He took great pride in getting them running while restoring many of them to "like new" condition. You would often find him at farm auctions and family cookouts or at antique tractor pulls with his DC Case winning numerous first place trophies.

Mr. Windsor was a member of the Dorchester County Maryland Farm Bureau, member and former president of the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Company, and a member of the Cambridge Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Anne; six children, James Thomas “Tom” Windsor of Salisbury, MD, Frederick Ewell “Rick” Windsor Jr. of Salisbury, MD, Julia Windsor Yale of Potomac, MD, John Robert Windsor and his wife Marian of East New Market, MD, George Lake Windsor and his wife Dee of East New Market, MD, and Timothy B. “Tim” Windsor of Airey, MD; eleven grandchildren, Hilary Anne Yale of Delmar, MD, Kenneth Paul Yale Jr. of Washington, DC, John Robert Windsor Jr. and his wife Melanie of Ocean Pines, MD, Jacob Harper Windsor and his wife Kelsi of East New Market, MD, Victoria Marie Yale of Overland Park, KS, George Edwin “Ned” Yale of San Diego, CA, Katherine Cordelia “Kacee” Windsor of Danbury, CT, Frederick Delaha “Erick” Windsor of East New Market, MD, Lydia Anne Yale of Washington, DC, Susan Irene Windsor of Linkwood, MD, and George Phillip Windsor of East New Market, MD; great-grandchildren, John Howard “Jack” Windsor, James Harper Windsor, and Della Louise Windsor.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Windsor was preceded in death by his siblings James Thomas “Jimmy” Windsor Jr., Marjorie Windsor Creighton, Sheldon Winfield Windsor, and William Palmer Windsor.

The pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ken Yale, Robbie Windsor, Jake Windsor, Ned Yale, Erick Windsor, and Phillip Windsor.
