Freida Johnson

Freida J. Prahl Johnson, 79, of Ellendale, Delaware passed away Monday evening, April 3, 2017 at her home with her loving and supportive family by her side.
Born in Hoopers Island on February 11, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Ruby L. and Thomas H. Travers.
“Sis” as she was well-known by all who knew her married Samuel P. Johnson, Sr. in August 1991. Sis had lived in the Ellendale area for 53 years.
She enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling and most of all she had a love for cooking and made a career of it. Sis hosted the first Waterfowl Festival at Madison Bay and continued for 10+ years hosting this event. She had a special place in her heart for Cheers Ellendale and was very involved with helping out when she could. Spending time with her family was very important to Sis and she will truly be missed by all who loved her.
Surviving her besides her husband Samuel are children Kathy Humphries (Dale), Jeffery Prahl and Ruby Auman (Mark); grandchildren Jacob Auman, David Andrews, Jr., James Andrews and Ryan Humphries; great grandchildren Karson Humphries, Jace Andrews and Ashton Andrews; sisters Barbara Mathews, Joan Dukes and Nancy Stafford; brother-in-law David Wroten and special friend Judy Krause.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are sisters Loretta Wroten and Diane Towers.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge beginning 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Prahl. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sis’s name came be sent to Cheers Center, 24855 Broadkill Road, Milton, Delaware 19968.
