Gary W. Hubbard, Sr., 61, of East New Market, Maryland passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at home with his family by his side.

 

Born on January 20, 1962 in Cambridge, Maryland he was the son of Linda Harrington Hubbard and the late Oliver Webb Hubbard. 

 

Gary was raised in a family of farmers and he carried this on through his entire working life.  Having his hands in the soil and farming on Pea Hill Farm was what he lived to do.  He enjoyed deer, duck and goose hunting, fishing, bird watching, anything to do with nature and collecting arrowheads.  His granddaughter Hailee said, Pop Pop loved to talk about trees.  Family was very important to Gary and he will truly be missed by all of them.

 

He is survived by his mother Linda; children Webb Hubbard, Hanna Renee Hubbard (Derrick Van Dyk) and Hunter Gary Hubbard; grandchildren Austin Webb Hubbard, Hailee Renee Taylor, Caroline Faith Hubbard and Willow Grace Lee Hubbard;  brother Blair Hubbard (Melissa); close friends Terry Crannell, Richard Hubbard, Boyd Stuart, Clyde Harding and Bobby Hurley.

 

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 beginning 1 pm. at East New Market Cemetery with Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiating. 

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gary’s name can be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, 6 Cambridge Ave., East New Market, MD 21631 or Open Bible Church, 1619 Race St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
