Major Geraldyne Aull Pierce (Ret. Salvation Army), age 68, of Cambridge, MD died at her home on Friday morning, March 14, 2008.

Born on December 1, 1939 in Olustee, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Richard Aull and Nellie Kent Aull.

Gerrie attended public schools and attended Oklahoma State College. She then entered the School for Officers Training as a member of the Servants of Christ Session in 1961. After training she was Assistant Officer for the Ardmore, OK Corps. She then assisted at Ensly and Gadsden Alabama.

On August 12, 1967 she married Captain Edward L. Pierce. Together they served as Corps Officers in Biloxi, Hattiesburg, Greenwood and Natchez Mississippi as well as Dothan, Alabama. The couple then served in Baltimore, Hampden and Cambridge, Maryland. Then they were transferred to Florida serving as Corps Officers in Clay County, Ft. Pierce and Gainesville, Florida. Then they served in Petersburg, Richmond, Prince George and Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Pierce’s retired from Fredericksburg, VA on February 1, 2003 making Cambridge, Maryland their home.

Gerrie did much work with the ladies and youth of each corps.

She was always, sweet, kind and loving and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Servant of Christ – well done!

Surviving besides her husband of forty years, Major Edward L. Pierce (Ret. Salvation Army), is a son and daughter-in-law Darrin and Crystal Myers and their four children Harley, Breanna, Eddie and Darrin. She is also survived by a sister Elsie Trout of Washington State.

Preceding her in death besides her parents is a brother, Kenneth, and two sisters Miriam Vandemark and Shirley Jo Aull.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, March 18th at The Salvation Army Church, 200 Washington St., Cambridge, MD. Officiating Officers will be Captain Stephen Story and Major Mark Bell. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge, MD.

Pallbearers will be Michael Edgar, John Griffiths, Michael Jones, Levin Niblett, Roy Robbins and Edgar Wingate.

Expressions of sympathy may be made by either sending flowers or making memorial offerings in Mrs. Pierce’s memory to The Salvation Army, PO Box 91, Cambridge, MD 21613.
