Gloria Jean Cole

Gloria Jean Cole, 80, of Cambridge passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 28, 2022 in the care of Autumn Lake Health Care at Chesapeake Woods.
Born October 5, 1942 in Golden Hill, Jean was a daughter of the late Ella Marie Newcomb Eskridge and Jospeh Charles Eskridge. As a young child she lived on Hip Roof Road  before her family moved to Andrews. She attended the South Dorchester schools.
Jean lived her entire life in the area. During her first marriage she was blessed with her son Kenneth. An extremely close mother / son bond was forever formed. Jean later wed Thomas Leslie Cole. Leslie passed away February, 3, 1998.
For most of her working years Jean was a machine operator for Airpax Electronics. When she retired she had over 24 years of service. She had attended Bay Country Church.
Jean enjoyed the simple things. She loved watching old 50’s and 60’s TV. Her favorite was Gunsmoke. Jean was also a lady of faith. As her chronic arthritic condition increasingly limited her mobility she loved watching church TV.  The gospel music by Jimmy Swaggart was a favorite. She and Kenny would sing along together.  Her warm and caring personality will be remembered by all who knew her.
Surviving is her son Kenneth Darling of Cambridge; sister Nettie Lynn Williamson of Hurlock; grandson Kristopher Darling; great-granddaughter Angelina Marie Nicholas; nephews Jason Willey and Joseph Williamson along with many friends.
A  graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022 beginning 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Officiating will be Pastor Jayson Bleyer.
Interment will follow.
