Helen F. McCarty, 82, of East New Market, Maryland passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at UMSMC@Easton.
Born March 13, 1936 on Hoopers Island she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Rhodessa Stewart.
On October 17, 1953 Helen married John W. McCarty, Jr. and together raised two amazing children, Wayne McCarty and Sandra Bechtel.  Her husband John died June 9, 2000.
Helen enjoyed going to the slots, yard sales, auctions, listening to country music but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra; grandchildren Tonya Colquhoun and her fiancé Jon Farmer, Crystal Davenport and her husband Jason; great grandchildren Brandon Greathouse, Elizabeth Davenport, Angel Davenport, John Colquhoun, Jr., Libby Davenport, Xander Farmer, Anna Colquhoun and Wyatt Farmer; daughter-in-law Beth McCarty and best friends/cousins Polly Aaron and Bonnie Parker.  Also her crazy cat companion Sonny.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was her son Wayne; sisters Nancy Klopp and Florence Brohawn; nephew Cecil Jenkins and son-in-law Erden Bechtel.
Helen lived a long and full life filled with grandchildren, great grandchildren, trips and adventures.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A viewing and visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
A funeral service will begin 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home with Rev. David J. Wooten, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at the East New Market Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Helen’s family.
