James “Jamie” M. Plummer, 57, of Hurlock, Maryland passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home as a result of a UTV accident.
Born January 6, 1957 he was a son of the late Betty Thomas and James M. Plummer.
He attended and graduated from Saints Peter and Paul High School with the Class of 1975. After high school Jamie joined and later ran the family produce business J.M. Plummer & Son. His true passion was hunting and he was well known for his skills as a hunting guide.
Jamie was a farmer and outdoorsman. He loved working the fields and enjoyed being among nature. He was fondly referred to as "Banana Man" by his fishing buddies from the name given his boat. "Plum", another nickname he was given, was an easy going man with the unique laugh that so many of his family members were blessed with.
His sudden passing has come as a great shock to his family, friends and community.
Surviving are his daughters Megan H. Plummer, C. Brea Plummer of Cambridge and Natalie A. Plummer of Easton; sisters Penny P. Dean and her husband Gibby of Hurlock, Pat P. Vogl of Dover, DE; nieces Angie C. Dean, Ashley P. Dean; nephews Kaleb T. Vogl and Ethan P. Vogl and his trusted companion his yellow lab Cooper P.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are grandparents Angie and Jerome Thomas, Lily and Harry Plummer and nephew Seth Thomas Vogl.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 beginning 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Secretary. Officiating will be Rev. Anthony Greco.
Family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.
