JOHN G. NORTH

John G. North (a/k/a Johnny), age 93, of Cambridge, died, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge, MD.

Born on January 10, 1918 in Drawbridge, Dorchester County, he was the son of the late George R. North and Lula Abbott North.

On November 28, 1942, he married the former Margaret Elizabeth Parks who is deceased.

Johnny worked on the family farm and was a waterman by trade. His favorite hobby was building miniature boats.

Johnny was a faithful and devoted member of the Souls Harbor Church of God, Cambridge, MD

Surviving is a sister Ruth Hurst-Conway of Georgetown, DE; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceeding him in death besides his parents and wife is a brother Herbert North Sr.; three sisters Inez Travers, Helen Dixon and Lois Smack.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27th, at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A. (formerly Curran-Bromwell) in Cambridge. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Mark Donovan, Pastor of Souls Harbor Church of God. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. At a later time burial will be held at Dorchester Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Johnny’s memory to the Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Ave. Cambridge, MD 21613.
