Joseph Beddie Barrack, 92, of Church Creek passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at The Signature Healthcare at Mallard Bay in Cambridge.

He was born on April 30, 1929 in Madison, Maryland, and was the son of the late Beddie and Effie Ann Shenton Barrack.

On July 31, 1950 Joseph married the former Nancy Smith and together they built a home near Cambridge raising their daughter and lived there for 70 years.

Joseph (Joe) was employed with the Phillips Oil Company as a service station attendant for over 45 years and developed many long lasting friendships with customers.

He was an avid gardener and was very proud of his huge garden and the produce he would share with his family and friends. Joe was a member of the Cambridge Coin Club for many years along with his daughter Windy. He also enjoyed going to Foxwell Auctions every Saturday for many years. Later in life he enjoyed sitting out under a shade tree at the picnic table and listening to country music which he loved.

Surviving him besides his wife Nancy of 71 years of marriage is his daughter Edwina “Windy” Karpavage and her husband Windy of Taylors Island; several nieces and nephews including Sylvia Barrack (Heather Nash), William Barrack (Kathy), Ray King (Carol King), Faye Willey (Eldridge), Kay Parks (Larry), Bobby Simmons (Dottie), Linda Wyatt and Gloria Wolbach.

Also, two very special friends, neighbors William (Bill) & Reida Foxwell.

Preceding him in death besides his parents are siblings William “Wimpy” Barrack (Lottie), Howard Barrack (Betty), Mamie King (Louis), Frances Simmons (Robert), Louise Opdenoker and Cora Barrack.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Baywater Animal Rescue, Kitty Kat Kottage or Kitty City Rescue.
