Joyce Nielsen Harding, 80, of Town Point passed away on Tuesday morning, April 18, 2017 at her home.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 19, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn McNaughton Nielsen.

Joyce attended the local schools in Philadelphia and in 1950 moved to the Eastern Shore. She met the love of her life and on June 15, 1954 she married Darcy M. Harding, Sr.

When Joyce wasn’t busy cooking for her family, she was working in the yard cutting grass and planting flowers. Oil painting was a favorite hobby she enjoyed and she liked to show off her finished portraits. Joyce loved living on the family farm taking care of her animals and knowing she was surrounded by her family gave her great comfort. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Joyce besides her husband Darcy are children Darcy Mathew Harding, Jr. and wife Judy, Samuel Lee Harding and wife Elizabeth, Lorin J. Harding Stewart and husband Joe all of Town Point; grandchildren David Stewart and wife Elizabeth, Patti Harding Hubbard and husband Howard, Brian Stewart, Jessie Stewart, Joseph DeSaulniers, Devon DeSaulniers, Michael Harding, Tyler Stewart and Daniella Harding; great grandchildren Ian Stewart, Hailey Hubbard, Todd, Ethan, Luke and Mason Stewart.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was a daughter Joy Anne Harding and a son Larry Lesley Harding.

Joyce will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in the Harding Family Cemetery.
