Kenneth Clyde Keith

Kenneth Clyde Keith, a steadfast soul whose life was woven with threads of duty, service, and an indomitable spirit of generosity, departed this world on January 21, 2026, at UMSMC at Easton, Maryland.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 7, 1950, he grew into a man who would dedicate his life not only to his craft but equally so to his family and community. He was the son of the late Louis Keith and Evelyn (Alig) Keith.

A proud graduate of Colonel White High School, where he walked the halls with the class of 1968, Kenneth went on to earn an Associate Degree from Sinclair Community College in Ohio. His career as a welder at Cambridge International exemplified his hands-on approach to life; he was not just a craftsman but a gentle spirit who reveled in helping others. He was the epitome of a handyman—the go-to person whenever anything needed fixing.

Kenneth’s journey was marked by proud service to his country. Drafted into the U.S. Army on May 25, 1970, he served valiantly during the Vietnam War, holding steadfast in the face of adversity. His commitment to his fellow soldiers earned him several decorations, badges, and commendations. He was honorably discharged at the rank of SP4 on May 24, 1976, a day that signified both an end and a continuation; he remained a member of the Army Reserves, demonstrating his unwavering sense of responsibility and dedication.

Outside of work and service, Kenneth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He deeply loved God and had a special gift for sharing His word through stories—often thoughtful, sometimes humorous, and always grounded in faith. He found comfort in Christian music and classic rock, faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Hurlock, Maryland, and cheered enthusiastically for his beloved Baltimore Ravens. In all things, he embraced each moment with gratitude and joy, a reflection of the generous spirit he carried throughout his life.

He leaves behind a vibrant legacy in his cherished family. His children—Rhonda Budd, Elisha Harshbarger, Dustin Blockston, and Ashley Yakub—alongside his grandchildren, Joshua Budd, Bethany and Alannah Blockston, Elijah, April, Nathaniel, Lauren Harshbarger and Anthony Coghlan carry forward the lessons he imparted, the comfort he offered, and the love he shared. His sisters, Karen Copher and Linda Nelson, will also remember him with love, having walked beside him through life’s winding paths.

Kenneth will forever be remembered not just as a father, grandfather, and brother, but as a beacon of kindness and quiet strength. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Keith; his mother, Evelyn (Alig) Keith; and his brother, Louis Keith, all of whom he held close to his heart throughout his life.

As we reflect on the luminous life of Kenneth Clyde Keith, it is clear that this remarkable man filled his days with love, service, faith, and a commitment to uplifting those around him. His presence will remain interwoven in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 301 Poplar Street, Hurlock, Maryland 21643. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the service beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Lee Hughart officiating. Burial will follow with a committal service at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock beginning at 1:00 p.m., with military honors.
