Pamela Long

Pamela Towers Long, 57, formerly of Cambridge passed away September 24, 2015 in Marathon, Florida after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cambridge August 26, 1958, she was a daughter of Ernestine Fox Towers Bloodsworth and the late James Oliver Towers. She attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School with the Class of 76.
Pamela moved to Florida in 1979 where she met her husband of 36 years Bart Mavity. Bart, Pamela and their dog companion Blondie enjoyed the Florida Keys lifestyle. They loved driving through the Everglades. Pamela was very skilled on her rollerblades and was often seen skating up and down the roads. She enjoyed having her nephew Jamie come and spend the summers with her. He referred to her as “Pammy” and the locals did the same. Everyone in the area of Marathon knew Pammy. Pammy also loved to travel out west. She and Bart enjoyed the mountains of Montana. A very caring person, she was always more concerned about helping others than herself.
At the time of the onset of her illness Pammy was the food and beverage manager and wedding planner at the Islander Resort in Isle Marada Florida.
Surviving besides her husband Bart is her mother Ernestine Towers Bloodsworth and step-father Curtis; sister Janet Towers of Cambridge; godmother Pat Travers of Woolford; nephew Jamie Middleton and wife Michelle and their son Chase of Greenwood, Delaware; step-sister Vickie Del Grosso and husband Joe of Cambridge; step-brother Kirk Bloodsworth of Philadelphia; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
