Patricia Lee "Pat" Aaron

Patricia Lee "Pat" Aaron, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Cambridge community, peacefully passed away at her home on June 7, 2026. Born in Cambridge, Maryland, on October 22, 1934, Pat’s life was marked by quiet strength, grace, and a deep love for her family and friends.

On December 31, 1950, Pat married the love of her life Rudolph C. "Rudy" Aaron. Together they raised two beautiful children, Steve and Brenda. Rudy died on September 13, 2011.

Pat dedicated many years to her career as a cartographer at Western Publishing Company, where her meticulous work helped bring clarity and detail to countless maps. Those who knew her remember a lovely lady with a soft-spoken voice, whose gentle demeanor and warmth made an enduring impression. Beyond her professional life, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures: she was an avid reader, loved taking bus trips with her husband Rudy and their close friends, and cherished lunches and dinners shared with friends. Her compassionate spirit also extended to supporting athletic program groups with her husband while their son Steve and daughter Brenda attended school, reflecting her unwavering commitment to family and community.

Family was the center of Pat’s world. She took immense pride in being a devoted mother, nurturing her children and caring for her home with boundless love and dedication. Meeting her great-grandson Easton brought her special joy, a proud accomplishment she treasured deeply. Though she is now reunited with her late husband, Rudolph C. "Rudy" Aaron, and daughter Brenda L. Aaron-Johnson, her spirit lives on vibrantly through those she loved.

Pat leaves behind a loving circle of survivors who will carry her memory forward: her son Stephen L. Aaron, Sr., along with his wife Judy; her grandsons Stephen L. Aaron, Jr. (Jessica) and Major L. Hunter Aaron, USMC; her granddaughter Taylor R. Johnson and step-granddaughter, Kimberly L. Cooper; her great-grandson Easton A. Aaron, step-great granddaughters Kherington and Kylie Wheatley; her son-in-law Chris Johnson; brother-in-law Tony Bailey and multiple nieces and nephews who cherished her presence. Her family is forever grateful for the enduring legacy she created and the strength she imparted.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Collins and Frances Rumbley Mason; her great-aunt Beulah Slacum and great-uncle Houston Slacum who raised her as their own from the age of two; her beloved husband Rudy; her daughter Brenda; and her brothers Reginald, Johnny, Henry, and Earl Slacum.

Friends and family are invited to honor Patricia’s memory during a viewing held at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, located at 308 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613, on June 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location beginning 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will take place at Dorchester Memorial Park, 5391 Aireys Rd, Cambridge, MD 21613, beginning 2:15 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen L. Aaron, Sr., Stephen L. Aaron, Jr., L. Hunter Aaron, Tony Lee Bailey, Chris Johnson and Ronnie Coulbourn.

Though she has departed from this world, Patricia Lee Aaron’s kindness, love, and gentle spirit will remain forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of family devotion and heartfelt connection is a testament to a life truly well-lived.
