It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Simmons, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patricia was born on June 10, 1942, in Tecumseh, Michigan, and she left this world on January 16, 2026, at Talbot Hospice.
Patricia's life was filled with dedication and hard work. After moving to Cambridge in 1963, she embarked on a career that spanned several decades. She began her journey at the Rob Roy Shirt Factory and later continued her service at Webb Henry's Restaurant and the State of Maryland's Income Tax division. In 1966, she joined The Dixie Bargain Center as a manager, where she spent 30 years contributing to the community and building lasting relationships. Following the passing of her employer, Patricia channeled her passion into entrepreneurship by opening her own sewing shop, which she successfully ran for over two years.
An alumnus of Hudson High School in Hudson, Michigan, Patricia's commitment to service extended beyond her profession. She proudly joined the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) following her graduation, where she completed basic training in Anniston, Alabama, and clerical training at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana. She served at Arlington Hall Station in Arlington, Virginia, fulfilling her duties with honor and integrity.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Linda Brewer of Silver City, New Mexico, and Lynalyne Simmons of Cambridge. Her legacy continues through her granddaughter Terrill Brewer of Silver City and great-granddaughter Willow Brewer. Patricia also leaves behind her beloved sister Mary "Cookie" Holmes of Tustin, Michigan, and brother Timothy Terrill, along with his wife Darlene of Leroy, Michigan. Additionally, she is cherished by several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and many friends who loved her dearly.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister Linda Sue, as well as her sisters Judy Rivard and Barbara Simmons. She also mourned the loss of her brothers David Terrill, Johnny Terrill, and Dean Terrill.
As we remember Patricia Ann Simmons, we reflect on a life well-lived, filled with love, resilience, and the importance of family and friendship. Her spirit will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In keeping with Pat’s wishes, there will be no services.
