Rebecca Lynn Rippons, 67, of Hoopersville, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.

 

She was born on Smith Island, Maryland on June 9, 1955 and was the daughter of Delores Evans and the late Robert Lee Tyler.

 

On October 17, 1969 only being 14 years old, Rebecca married Anthony (Tony) Ruark Rippons. Tony and Rebecca were inseparable and meant to be together.  They spent 24 wonderful years of marriage and together raised 3 children.  Tony passed away on November 2, 1993.

 

Rebecca and Tony picked crabs together and after his passing, she picked crabs at multiple other crab houses until her health forced her into retirement.   She was also an avid reader.  Rebecca devoted her life to her husband and children and loved every minute of it.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

 

Surviving Rebecca is her mother Delores; sons Anthony R. Rippons, Jr. (Debbie) and Joseph B. Rippons of North Carolina; grandchildren Robbie Aaron, Elizabeth Aaron, Tony Rippons, III, Alexander Rippons and Maxx Rippons; siblings Paula K. Tyler, Morgan Tyler and Jonathan Tyler.

 

Preceding her in death besides her father was a daughter Stephanie Aaron; sister Libby Evans;  brother Robert (Bobby) Lee Tyler, Jr. and her beloved second mother Elsie Tyler.

 

A private graveside service will be held at Dorchester Memorial Park.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, 308 High St., Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
