Robert P. Stump. 76, of Cambridge passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge.
Born in Penns Grove, N.J. March 12, 1939 he was a son of the late Marion Stratten and Howard Everett Stump.
In 1962 he enlisted in the US Army and served his country for two years.
On January 5, 1962 he married his now wife of 53 years the former Joan Harrison.
Bob was very talented with his hands and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. For most of his working career he was self-employed. He was an appliance repair man, he installed all types of fences, antennas and also satellite dishes.
Bob loved horses and loved traveling to the hills of West Virginia. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, crabbing and gardening. He would always tell people to help themselves to the vegetables in his garden. He was a very thoughtful person and will always be remembered for his big heart.
Surviving besides his wife are his sons James Paul Stump and his wife Patti, Robert “Bobby” Stump both of Cambridge; brother Brice Stump of Crisfield; sister Arlene Burton and husband Rodney of Cambridge; grandchildren James Paul Stump, Jr. and Lillie Mae Stump; special niece and nephew Ashley and Troy Ellis who have been such a big help to the family; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bob in death besides his parents was a step-father William Murphy; brothers Howard and Donald Stump.
The family has requested services to be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Bob should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, 909 Progress Circle, Suite 400, Salisbury, MD 21804 or Parkinson’s Research Foundation, 5969 Catheridge Blvd., Suite 100, Sarasota, FL, 34232.
