Ruth Spicer Gray, 91, of Cambridge, Maryland passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Candle Light Cove in Easton, Maryland.
She was born on April 18, 1930 in Golden Hill, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Theophilous Spicer and Ethel Robinson Spicer.
Ruth attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1947.
On November 1, 1955 Ruth married Russell Lee Gray who passed away on April 20, 1994.
She was employed by the Cambridge Maryland Hospital/Dorchester General Hospital for thirty years. She retired in 1995.
Ruth was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Surviving Ruth are her two sons Alan Mitchell (Lynn) of East New Market, MD and Russell Lee Gray, Jr.(Francine) of Norfolk, VA; grandson Russell Lee Gray, III; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are sisters Betty Fehsenfeld, Ann Eberspacher and Doris Dove; a brother Joe Spicer; a nephew Steve Dove.
A private funeral service will be held at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD with Pastor Christopher Pettit officiating.
