Samuel Short

Samuel “David” Short passed away peacefully on September 14, 2018 at his home in Cambridge MD. He was 61 yrs. old.

Born on June 4, 1957 in Cambridge MD he was the son of the late Ira Washington Short, Jr. and Ruth Walters Short.

On April 14, 1979 he married Edna Mae Phippin and they were married for 36 years.

David worked on the water and enjoyed working on cars, crabbing and fishing.

Surviving him are two children David Michael Joshua Short (Becky) of Cambridge, and Stephen Donald Hubbard (Renee) of East New Market; siblings Ira Short III (Linda) of Centreville, Thomas Short of Hudson,  Betty Racine (Mike) of Hurlock, William Short of Toddville and Della Pritchett of Cambridge; grandchildren Carleigh Fraley, Branden Short, Zach Hubbard, Owen Hubbard, and Riley Hubbard and numerous nieces and nephews.

David will be greatly missed by his loyal protector Klinger.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 beginning 1:00 p.m.with Chaplain Joel Beiler officiating at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge.

David's family will serve as pallbearers.
