Sharon Morse Ruark, 66, of Cambridge, MD entered God’s Bingo Hall December 4, 2014.
Born August 6, 1948 in Cooke County Illinois, she was a daughter of the late William and Johannah Purcell Morse.
She graduated from Dundalk High School, Dundalk, MD in 1966 and went on to McQueen Gibbs Willis School of Nursing in Easton, MD. As a registered nurse she went on to work with the Visiting Nurse Association for 6 years. She also worked at Easton’s Memorial Hospital for 13 years and she taught “Controlled Impact Aerobics for Seniors” at Chesapeake College for 10 years.
When asked what she did for enjoyment she would answer “Bingo, Bingo, Bingo”. She has attended Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care for the past 10 years where she was able to enjoy different activities and many friendships.
She is survived by her 5 children; Billy Morse, Donnie Morse, David Morse and wife Debby, all of Cambridge, Melissa Miles and husband Vernon of Easton, MD, and Doug Greenwood, Jr. and wife Diana of Fort Worth, TX. Also surviving are 9 siblings Darlene, Pat, Jean, Donna, Viola, Bobby, Mary, Debbie, and Terry; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her ex-husband Luther Ruark and was known to say they had a better relationship after the divorce.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was a sister Evelyn and a brother Butch.
Sharon’s last request was to send a message to Mike, “I Love You!”
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 beginning 2:00 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. There will be a viewing the hour prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Abe Lankford and Rev Randall Blackmon. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Nolan, Michael Greenwood, Dougie Greenwood, Cody Morse, David Morse, Jr. and Daniel Stormes, Jr.
She has asked for memorials to be made to the Activity Fund at Pleasant Day, 2474 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, MD 21613.
