Shirley Tyler Brannock, 85, formerly of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge.

Born on April 17, 1935 in Cambridge, she was one of eleven children of the late Leona Aaron Tyler and Hubert B. Tyler.

Shirley graduated from Cambridge High School in 1953. She was a stay-at-home Mom, an avid card player, enjoyed playing Mahjong, and was a league bowler for many years. She was outgoing and loved to talk to people, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed watching the birds in her yard, especially hummingbirds. Through-out her illness she maintained her sense of humor and quick wit.

On November 27, 1954 Shirley married the love of her life, Tyrus A. Brannock,Sr., who died in October 2000. Shirley was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury and was actively involved in Sunday School and women’s ministries.

She is survived by four sons, Tyrus A. Brannock, Jr. (Terri) of Trappe, Keith A. Brannock (Barbara) of Delmar, Barry A. Brannock (Beverly) of Golts and Glenn A. Brannock of Riviera Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren Brian Brannock, Lindsey Arnie, Kristin Perez, Shelley Carroll, Victoria Donovan, James Brannock, Mary Brannock, Caroline Brannock and Nathan Brannock; great grandchildrenTeagan Donovan, Eliza Donovan, Mason Carroll and another due in September; a brother, William James “Bill” Tyler (Carolyn); a sister, Faye Tyler Bender; a sister-in-law, Joan B. Grindle, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight of her siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 beginning 1 PM at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Interment will follow service at Old Trinity Cemetery, Church Creek. There will be a visitation on Friday, April 30 from 6PM to 8PM. Face coverings will be required.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Shirley can be sent to Christ United Methodist Church, 211 Phillip Morris Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
