Steven Dawson

Steven W. Dawson, 48, of Cambridge died suddenly Monday, March 7, 2016 at his home.
Born January 25, 1968, he was a son of Sandra Thornton and the late Harold Dawson, Jr. He attended local county schools graduating from Cambridge South Dorchester with the Class of 1986.
Steve was a construction worker and recently was employed doing rehabilitation of rental properties. He was a outdoors man, always enjoyed being on the water either boating or fishing. Spending time with his family always brought him the most happiness.
Surviving is his son Kyle Dawson of Wingate; mother Sandra Thornton and step father Tommie of Chesterfield, VA; brother Gordon "Gordy" Dawson and wife Janet; aunt Sheila Nimmerrichter and husband Larry; step sister Angie Tanner; step brothers William, Brad and John Lednum; first wife and still friend Cheryl Dawson along with nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 beginning 1:00 pm at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Officiating will be lay speaker Chris Farnell.
